There was a washerman named Ramu in a small village. He used to go to wash on the banks of the river by loading clothes on his ass every morning. Ramu also had a pet dog, who was always with him. The dog would sometimes guard the house, sometimes he would go to the ghat with Ramu and move around.
Gradually, the dog also started meeting other dogs of the ghat. But the dogs there did not consider him as their own, because he did not spend much time with them. Whenever there was a fight at the ghat, the dog would run away fearfully. The dogs of the ghat considered him a coward and begana.
On the other hand, he had the same condition at home. The dogs of the house think that it stays out throughout the day, so it is not part of them. They also did not take him to eat or play. In this way, the dog was neither of the ghat nor the house. He did not live anywhere.
One day Ramu saw that his dog was very sad. He was neither playing nor eating anything. Ramu understood that his dog could neither be made of anyone nor in the house. He got into thinking and said, “Hey! This is the same situation – the dog of the washerman, nor the house nor the ghat!”
The villagers laughed after hearing this, but Ramu learned a big from this. He adopted the dog and explained that it is necessary to walk in one direction in life, otherwise we do not live anywhere.
🌟 सीख (Moral of the story):
The person who wants to walk together on two paths, does not reach any destination. It is necessary to have a clear decision in life and loyalty in one place. If we try to fit everywhere, then we are not accepted properly anywhere.
👉 That’s why it has been said:
“Dhobi dog, nor house nor ghat!”
