It is necessary to get birth registration done within 21 days after the birth of the child.
2. Procedure for hospital birth
- The hospital prepares the birth report.
- The child is registered with the same report.

3. Procedure for home birth
If the child is born at home, you will have to inform the nearest Municipal Corporation/Municipality/Gram Panchayat.

4. How to make birth certificate online?
Birth certificate is available online in most states of India.
Steps:
- Open your state’s birth-death registration website
- Click on “Birth Registration”
- Fill in the child’s information
- Upload required documents
- Pay Fees Online (₹0–₹50)
- Download Birth Certificate after verification is complete
5. How to make birth certificate offline?
Go to Municipal Corporation/Panchayat office of your area → Fill the form → Submit the documents → You will get the certificate in a few days.
6. How to add name to birth certificate later?
If the name of the child is not decided at the time of birth, it can be added later.
