American tech company Apple has suffered a major setback. The crown of China’s best-selling company has been snatched away from it. Apple has already reached third place in China. Now Vivo and Huawei have overtaken the American company in China in terms of sales. Apple’s shipments to China declined by 17 percent in 2024, which is its biggest decline on an annual basis. Due to this it has suffered a loss of 4 percent in market share.
Vivo becomes the biggest company
Vivo has become the largest selling company in China by defeating Apple. It has 17 percent market share of the Chinese smartphone market. Huawei is in second place with 16 percent market share and Apple is in third place with 15 percent. The biggest reason for the decline in Apple’s market share is believed to be the lack of AI features in the latest iPhone models being sold in China.
Apple’s troubles will not subside
According to media reports, Apple’s performance in China last year was its worst ever. Even now the challenges of the company are not going to reduce. Chinese company Huawei is continuously giving tough competition to Apple in the premium segment through the launch of its flagship models. Apart from this, many other companies are increasing the problems of Apple by launching foldable phones. Apple is resorting to discount
To increase its sales in China, Apple is giving huge discounts on iPhone 16 series. Here the company had offered a discount of up to Rs 6,000 on its flagship device. Apart from the iPhone 16 series, discounts are also being given on old iPhone models and some other products of the company.
