India showed so much interested in making its own AI model, proposals to government

India is trying to make its AI model. For this, the government has started an IndiaAI mission of Rs 10,370 crore. Now under this mission, 67 proposals have been reached with the government. Of these, 20 proposals are associated with the development of large language models (LLMS). Now the Ministry of Electronics and IT is preparing to form a committee for ideas on these proposals. Let us know that the government had last month sought proposals from companies and developers to make a domestic foundational model.

These companies offer for LLM

According to the Indian Express, 20 proposals in 67 are connected to the LLM, while the rest are for the sector-specific small language model (SML). Companies proposed by LLM include Ola, Sarvam AI and Corover.ai etc. It is believed that in the next one month, the committee of the ministry will discuss this proposals. Experts from outside will also be included in this committee.

India’s first AI model may be launched this year

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in January that India will also launch its generative AI model on the lines of Chatgpt of Openai and Delhi’s Deepsek. There are at least six such big developers in India, which can make AI models in more than 6-8 months. He also said that India will prepare its Foundation AI model. Keeping in mind the linguistic and cultural diversity of India, its dataset will be prepared so that there are no bias involved in it.

AI model race is intensifying

Openai launched Chatgpt in late 2023. After this, a new competition started in this area. Openai, which is alone for the first time, is now getting competition from other companies. Recently, the AI ​​model of Chinese Startup Deepsek created panic in the tech world. Deepsek prepared its model at a much lower cost compared to American companies.
