Reliance Jio is bringing VoNR service for its users. Its full name is Voice over New Radio and it is calling technology. Jio will be the first company to bring this service. This technology improves voice quality by reducing background noise and delivering HD audio. There is less latency in this, due to which communication becomes better. Along with this, it also improves network efficiency.
This is how VoNR is different from VoLTE
Till now Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Jio etc. use VoLTE as calling feature. This technology is used in 4G network, whereas VoNR is the technology of 5G network. VoNR provides better voice quality, lower latency and better network efficiency using 5G networks. VoNR has been specially designed for use on 5G networks.
Jio started service
According to some media reports, Jio has started this service in Delhi and Mumbai. It is believed that it has started in some other areas of the country also. Soon the company will make it available to users across the country. In this way, once again Jio will win. No information has yet come from Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) regarding the deployment of this technology.
Where do Airtel and Vi stand?
Airtel has not yet deployed 5G SA (Standalone). This year also there is no information about its deployment from the company. In such a situation, Airtel customers may have to wait a long time for VoNR. Like Airtel, Vi will also deploy 5G NSA (Non-Standalone). In such a situation, this company will also not be able to provide VoNR facilities to its customers soon. In such a situation, customers are left with only Jio option for this service.
