Actually, WhatsApp has decided to stop supporting these old Android phones because the hardware installed in the old phones will not be able to support the new features of the app.

In the beginning of the year 2024, the company added support for Meta AI and later also upgraded it.

According to the new rules of WhatsApp, WhatsApp cannot be used on many old Android phones. These include Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, Motorola Moto G (1st generation), Motorola Razr HD, Moto E 2014, HTC One G, LG Nexus 4, LG G2 Mini, LG L90, Sony Xperia Z, Sony Xperia SP, Many phones like Sony Xperia T and Sony Xperia V are included.

Earlier, WhatsApp had announced that it will end support for iPhones running iOS 15.1 or older.

This means that WhatsApp support for iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will automatically end.

The thing to note is that iPhone users have time till May 5, 2025 to buy a new device and exchange it.
