Google said that your phone can leak sensitive data when it falls in the wrong hands, which threatens the financial fraud as well as privacy. Currently, this feature is being rolled out for Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy devices who run on Android 15. Later, it can also be released for other devices.

How will this feature work?

After enabling these features, it makes access to data difficult. If your phone is unlocked, stolen or someone knows the password, then he will not be able to reach the data. He will have to complete biometric authentication to set the device’s settings and some accounts outside the ‘trusted location’. Users will have the option to add many trusted locations. If someone is not able to complete biometric authentication, then he will not be able to change the PIN code. Also, he will not be able to close Find My device and Theft protection etc.

This feature will work only on these smartphones

Note that this feature will be available only on smartphones supporting class 3 biometrics. Let us know that in-display fingerprint sensor (ultrasonic or optical) and 3D face reconation devices are considered to be class 3 biometrics devices. Earlier it was called strong biometrics.
