OLA Uber Fare Notice: For the past several months, questions were being raised on online cab platforms Ola and Uber that both these platforms charge more money from iPhone users than Android users. Many people on social media had also claimed that if a cab is booked from one place to another, then the fare shown on iPhone is higher than Android. After which today the Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) of the Government of India has issued a notice to India’s two biggest cab aggregators Ola and Uber and asked them to file a reply.

Ola and Uber have been denying the allegations
Last month too, Pralhad Joshi had stressed on “zero tolerance” towards consumer exploitation and had directed the CCPA to thoroughly investigate such allegations. However, both Ola and Uber companies have been facing allegations of price differential based on mobile phones for a long time. Both have been denying this and both have been claiming that the difference in prices could be due to other reasons.
