Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries is going to build the world’s largest AI data center. It will be built in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The total capacity of this center will be 3 GW and it will have no competition in the world. Currently, most of the operational data centers are in the US and most of them have a capacity of less than one gigawatt. Let us know the complete news.
Partnership with NVIDIA
Reliance has joined hands with NVIDIA for this project. The AI semiconductor used in it will be taken from NVIDIA. In October last year, both the companies had announced to come together to develop AI infrastructure in India. On this occasion, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang had emphasized on domestic AI production. He had said that India should create its own AI. You should not export data to import intelligence. Ambani also agreed with him and underlined India’s digital connectivity infrastructure.
Data center will run on green energy
A large amount of energy is required to run a data center. Many experts have expressed concern about the damage caused to the environment due to this. If we talk about the data center to be built in Gujarat, most of its needs will be met by green energy. Reliance is also considering setting up solar, wind mills and green hydrogen projects in this area.
Reliance’s emphasis is on making AI affordable
Mukesh Ambani had also talked about making it easier for people to access AI in India. Reliance can enter this sector also with a strong strategy like the telecom sector. With Jio, Reliance had changed the face of India’s telecom sector. Ambani had said last year that he wants to make AI available at the lowest cost in the world so that it is affordable and accessible to everyone.
