This patent has been named “Controlling Electronics Devices based on Wireless Ranging”. Recently, Samsung also filed a patent, which was shown to control the separate device of the house from the Galaxy ring.

Right now the iPhone can be used to control TV and unlock the car etc. Apple now wants to take this technology further, where all things can be controlled by the same device and this device itself will guess what you want to do now. Apple’s patent does not mention the iPhone, especially. It can also be iPad or Apple Watch. In the patent, it has been called only wireless communication device.
Technology will work like this
According to the patent, as soon as the iPhone or this device will know what you want to do, it will work with the help of AI. For example, if you do this device towards TV, then it will change the channel with you or heat the water in it when it is towards the electric cat. It is being speculated that it can work on the basis of proximity. Apart from this, this device will be able to lock/unlock any other device without touching it.
