Elon Musk is going to start its satellite broadband service starlink in India soon. PM Modi, who recently visited the US, was spoken to by Musk on many issues related to technology, innovation and space sector in India. Before Alan Musk’s satellite broadband service, telecom company Airtel has taken a big step about this service. ONEWEB, a company back by Bharatiya Airtel, has approached DOT i.e. Telecommunications Department to launch its service in India. Onweeb has sought a fast track approval from the Department of Telecommunications to connect its twin Earth Station Station Gateway to the Low-Earth Orbit (Leo) global satellite in India.
In its letter to the Department of Telecommunications (DOT), Airtel has said that by getting approval, India can be made a global hub of satellite broadband service in South Asia. Let us know that Oneawab provides satellite broadband service in other countries except Pakistan and China in South Asia. In such a situation, after receiving approval from the Department of Telecommunications, India’s distinct identity can be established in the SATCOM industry. This company provides broadband service in 25 countries through its lower orbit satellite. At the same time, South East Asian countries such as Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand are preparing to provide satellite broadband service.
Onweeb already has a permit
To start the satellite broadband service in India, Onweb already has a permission of GMPCS, a GMPCS, a GMPCS. The satellite broadband service of Airtel Onewab will be launched Commercially after the telecom regulator completes the spectrum’s allocation process. Alan Musk’s Starlink does not have GMPCS permits, due to which Airtel’s satellite broadband may start first.
