There is a new threat on the iPhone and Android smartphones these days. According to a report, many apps on Google Play Store and Apple App Store have seen software development kit (SDK) with malware. Its name is Sparkcat and it is designed to steal information related to the wallet of cryptocurrency. It has been downloaded more than two lakh times from Google Play Store alone. This malware has targeted millions of people so far.

Malware stealing important information

According to reports, the primary function of this malware is to scan the images present in the user’s device for cryptocurrency wallet recovery fresh. These frames are usually stored as a screen or photo, which are used to restore the cryptocurrency wallet. These malware remove the required text from the photo and send it to the hackers. With this help, hackers succeed in making their access to the users’ cryptocurrency wallet without any password. This malware on iPhone and Android is working in different ways.

Target over 20 apps

The researcher has found that through this malware, hackers are working under different strategies according to the area. So far, 18 Android and 10 iOS apps have been found infected with this malware. One of these apps is Chatai, which was downloaded more than 50,000 times before being removed from Google Play Store. There are still many such apps on the play and app store, in which this malware is embedded. This has increased concerns about users safety. If you feel that any such app has been downloaded in your phone too, then immediately uninstall it.
