Whatsapp Spyware Attack: WhatsApp users worldwide are facing a threat to a serious cyber attack. According to reports, an advanced spyware attack is targeting users in at least 24 countries, in which 7 cases have been confirmed in Italy alone.

According to reports, this spyware is associated with Israeli surveillance firm Paragon Solutions. This spyware has been used to hack WhatsApp accounts of journalists, activists and members of civil society.
“Zero-Click” hacking technology has been used, in which the user does not need to click on a link or take any action. This is the reason that this attack is considered very dangerous, as it can completely bypass traditional security measures.
META confirmed WhatsApp Attack
Whatsapp’s parent company META has confirmed this hacking attack. The company tracked the spyware activity and immediately alerted the National Cybercharity Agency of Italy.

Kesarini herself revealed that she had received a warning from WhatsApp, stating that her device had been hacked.
Italian government started investigation
The office of Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni has condemned this cyber attack and assured that the National Cybercharity Agency is investigating the matter thoroughly. However, the government has denied any involvement and has refused to share a complete list of victims due to privacy reasons.
