A farmer named Ramu lived in a village. He had a gullible donkey, named Gappu. Ramu used to take Gappu every day to work in the field and make him work hard throughout the day. Gappu was very straightforward and hardworking, but he was also a little naive.
Ramu always asked him to carry more burden, and Gappu would tolerate everything without complaining. The people of the village often say,
“Ramu, give Gappu a little rest.”
But Ramu would avoid laughing, “Hey this is an animal, it is made for work only!”
One day Ramu had to go to the market. He loaded a lot of items on Gappu’s back and walked towards the market. The path was long and difficult. Gappu was very tired, but he continued quietly. Then a river came on the way. The bridge was broken, and Gappu had to get into the water to cross the river.
The water was deep, and Gappu was staggering due to heavy burden. Ramu got nervous, but Gappu showed courage and gradually crossed the river. Ramu was very happy.
On reaching the market, Ramu sold all the goods and made a lot of profit. While returning, he got into thinking – “Gappu is really very reliable. I always made it work, never gave it love.”
On returning home, Ramu fed Gappu carrots, gram and a lot of fodder. For the first time Gappu rubbed his head on Ramu’s back, as if he is saying, “Thank you owner!”
Education: One who always stands with you, should respect and love him. Whether it is human or animal.
